Eve & Michel Rey, Macon-Vergisson La Roche 2009

This wine is our favorite “La Roche” – it goes without saying that this vineyard is the insider's secret source for white Burgundy value, but Rey pulled out all the stops in 2009. We have never tasted such an elegant balance of rich, ripe fruit and mineral vibrancy; Rey simply nailed it! Aromas of crushed stones and creamery butter blend with yellow flowers on the rich, aromatic nose. Flavors of ripe peaches and lemon rind blend with classic terroir notes of chalk and more stones. Really a sensational wine!

Mulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc, Western Cape 2009

Mulderbosch situated in the prime Koelenhof area of Stellenbosch is widely accepted as being one of the best wine producers in the country, and Richard Kershaw is considered to be one of most talented up and coming winemakers in South Africa.The wine is a clear, light lemon-green color with an intense nose filled with passion fruit, Galia melon and a lifted florality - complex, with fresh cut grass and nettles. The mouth-filling fruit is balanced by an edgy fresh acidity making it compulsory to enjoy another glass.

August West Pinot Noir, Russion River Valley 2009

Gary Franscioni, owner of ROAR wines and a renowned grape grower in the Santa Lucia Highlands, has teamed up with winemaker Ed Kurtzman (Freeman, Roar and Sandler) and Howard Graham, a Russian River Valley grape grower, to produce these stunning wines. These wines are crafted with passion, exude soul, mystery and character, all with a tip of the hat to the Grateful Dead. Ed's elegance and finesse in the cellar is matched with the exquisite grape growing talents of Gary and Howard to create highly sought after, yet intensely limited wines. The first impression you'll get on the '09 RRV Pinot is how dense the color is. With aeration and time, subtle hints of blackberries and plums start to emerge.
